Let’s be real—drain clogs are an annoyance. They never seem to happen at the best time and they can keep you from being able to use your system properly. If you have a clogged drain or a slow-moving one, oftentimes it does require immediate attention. Here are some recommendations we regularly share with our customers when it comes to drains:

1. Stay away from chemical drain cleaners

Liquid chemical drain cleaners almost never take care of a drain issue completely, which means it may seem like your drain issue is fixed, but it’s only waiting to come back on you, maybe even worse. Plus, those chemicals can actually be damaging to your pipes, so it’s best to stay away from them completely.

2. If you hear gurgling, give us a call

Maybe your sink drain gurgles when you flush the toilet, or your toilet makes a funny sound when you’re in the shower—when that starts happening, it’s usually a sign that there’s an issue in your drain system. Our skilled technicians can help determine where the drain issue is originating and what needs to be cleaned to get your system back up and running smoothly.

3. Don’t wait

Some drain problems may seem to “solve” themselves over time, but let us assure you, even if the drain is working, there is still an issue somewhere in your system. The longer you wait to give us a call, the greater the chance that you could suffer some damage because of it.
